Privacy Policy

Introduction
Compound Theory ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Compound Theory iOS app ("the App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.
Data We Collect
Workout Data: Exercise names, sets, reps, weights, dates, and workout times are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via iCloud.
HealthKit Integration: With your explicit permission, the App reads and writes to Apple HealthKit to integrate your workout data with Apple's Health app.
iCloud Sync: If enabled, workout data is encrypted and stored in iCloud to sync across your Apple devices. iCloud syncing uses Apple's end-to-end encrypted database.
Account Information: Subscription and license information is managed through StoreKit 2 and stored locally on your device and in iCloud.
Data We Do NOT Collect
We never collect or send:
- Analytics or usage data
- Location data
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Personal identifiable information (name, email, age, etc.)
- Crash reports or error logs to third parties
- Browsing history or behavioral data
iCloud and CloudKit
Compound Theory uses Apple's CloudKit framework for optional iCloud syncing. Your workout data is encrypted and stored in your iCloud account. Apple has access only to encrypted data; we do not have access to your iCloud data. For more details, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
HealthKit
The App requests permission to read and write to Apple HealthKit. All HealthKit data remains on your device. We do not access, store, or share your HealthKit data with any server or third party.
Third-Party Services
Compound Theory does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third parties involved are Apple (for iCloud and HealthKit) and your payment processor for subscriptions (StoreKit 2 / App Store). Neither service tracks your workout data.
Data Retention
Your workout data is stored on your device until you delete it. Synced data in iCloud is retained as long as your iCloud account is active. You can delete your data anytime from within the App or by signing out of iCloud.
Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS encryption. iCloud data is encrypted end-to-end by Apple. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or storage is 100% secure. We strive to use best practices to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since all data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you have full control. You can delete data from within the App or request an export of your data at any time.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Your continued use of the App after such modifications will constitute your acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy.
